An introduction to Holibods:

Holibods was started in Swansea South Wales in October 2005 by two Early Years Teachers.

From their shared belief in the importance of high quality, child centred play opportunities & their passion for nurturing happy, healthy children, Holibods was born.

They recognised the need for increasing the awareness of the importance of movement and its benefits to whole child development and the need to increase physical activity and exercise throughout the early years of a child’s development.

They combined their ideas with their practical experience, training and research to come up with the Holibods programme.

All of the Holibods sessions are planned in accordance with Birth to Three Matters, Desirable Learning Outcomes & the Foundation Phase Curriculum.

Babybods

12 weeks – mobile

At this tender age Holibods offers sessions that nurture development through a series of sensory experiences, combined with music, movement and play.

Creative Zone: During this session Babybods are guided and assisted by their parents and carers to become involved in the session. Songs are sung and the little ones get moving to an array of bouncy, cheery tunes. Musical instruments are included in the fun to get the Babybods listening, alert and happy.

Active Zone: Then play time comes around and the babies are encouraged to play freely on the differing and colourful apparatus and toys assisted by their parents and carers. Grown ups get the chance to chat, make friends and discuss any parenting issues.

Relaxation Zone: The session ends with a soothing games and bubble time which relaxes and calms the Babybods. The lights are dimmed and calming tunes soothe the little ones. At the end of the session you are welcome to stay and feed your baby or enjoy a cuppa and continue that chat.

Wobblibods

Crawling - Confidently Walking

At this crucial stage of development as Wobblibods start rockin’ and rollin’ Holibods develops their increasing mobility, confidence and sense of identity throughout our three zones.

The Creative Zone: Wobblibods, with the help of their parents and carers, are encouraged to sing and dance to fun and funky songs.

The Active Zone: The children can then play freely but are supported by those present to ensure all Wobblibods stay safe and stable whilst exploring our age appropriate equipment!

The Relaxation Zone: The session ends with soothing tunes and bubbles, the lights are dimmed leaving Wobblibods calm and relaxed. The session ends with the goodbye song before children are invited to enjoy a healthy snack and parents/carers a welcome cuppa and a chat!

Busibods

Walking - 3 1/2 Years

Once the children have mastered their balance this class encourages them to get up on their feet and get moving!

The Creative Zone: Busibods explore a different theme every 6 weeks, using movement songs to bring each theme to life. We also play simple games to encourage social skills.

The Active Zone: It's physical fun time! Busibods are given the freedom of their new found co-ordination and balance and are encouraged to explore the apparatus still under the watchful eye of parents and carers. Explore tunnels; climbers; bouncers; slides; wobblers and sensory activities;

The Relaxation Zone: Busibods then come together again and have bubble time and relaxing games. The lights are dimmed and relaxing tunes are played leaving little ones calm and soothed. At the end of the session children enjoy a healthy snack whilst parents/carers have a welcome cuppa and a chance to catch up with friends.

Holibods Party

Perfect for that first birthday up to 3 years

Once the children have mastered their balance this class encourages them to get up on their feet and get moving!

From bouncing babies to fantastic five year olds – celebrate their day the Holibods way! A party gives children the chance to play on all our Action Zone apparatus, sing party songs, listen to music and play games including parachute games and bubble play and Holibods stickers for every child. Our parties include:

• Free play on all our Action Zone apparatus
• Party songs, music and games
• Parachute games & bubble play
• Face painting
• Maximum 20 children
